In the course of a week we look at a lot of things; websites, articles, pictures, videos and art. While a lot of things online are worth writing an article about, there is another pile of links that don’t require explanations or speculations from us. But although we didn’t write about these things we still want to share them with you. Places we would love for you to discover. Pictures we laughed at. Articles we thought about. In Otter News means to present you with a collection of those “shareables” and maybe give you a deeper glimpse into who we are as well.
Join us for a look at Mars, kittens, tiny but fantastic art, Mark Meer and much more!
Here is what Nick is sharing with us this week:
An amazing gallery over at Odd Stuff Magazine of Miniature Art on the Tip of Pencil by Dalton Ghetti. This mini sculptures are ridiculously detailed and Nick particularly liked the ones shaped like links such as this one:
Nick also shared us a couple of funnies he found at I Can has Cheezburger. First up is a possible suggestion for future Project Serenity office furniture with Nitrozoc and Snoggy’s The Joy of Tech:
And a swipe at one of the most irritating abbreviations (YOLO: You Only Live Once) we have inflicted upon the world lately via Schoolfailblog:
If you somehow have been blessedly unaware of the #YOLO affliction you can visit The Washington Post’s lifestyle section for an explanation: #YOLO: The newest acronym you’ll love to hate.
If you want to see some of the many articles Nick Schneider wrote this week, try the Guild Wars 2: Two-Million Sales in Two Weeks or You Otter Play This: Recettear and check out this wonderful Guild Wars 2 video he put together for us: Tour of Tyria.
Brandon Wolf may be our fearless leader but you can always count on him for a good laugh as well. This week he treated us to this adorable “If I Fit, I Will Sit” kitten picture via imgur:
The best part of Brandon’s next link, also from his imgur adventures, isn’t in fact the picture itself but the most up-voted comment:

“I see a little silhouetto of a man! Scaramouch! Scaramouch!” I think Freddie Mercury would have been happy with this.
If you want to have a look at some of Brandon’s huge body of articles you can check out Gaming Rigs that Rock for some awesome examples of what creative minds can think up for computer casings or The Secret World of Funcom for a peek at some of the behind-the-scenes rumors surrounding former CEO Trond Aas.
Sarah Selby proves that space exploration vehicles can be as cute as kittens with this selfie photo taken by the Mars Rover:
The internet may abound with tons of vegetables humorously shaped like body parts (and I do hope my colleagues won’t take that as a challenge for next week’s In Otter News!) but you have never seen a scary Cthulu lemon before I bet!
If you want to keep up to date with Sarah’s articles you could check out The Watch List: New Fall TV Shows. Maybe The Last Resort, Arrow or Revolution will be your next favourite series. Or visit the Obsidian’s Project: Eternity Reaches Kickstarter Goal article for a look at the tantalizing new project from the creative minds behind Baldur’s Gate and Planescape Torment.
In the universe of video games we have some severely awesome voice actors and Mark Meer shines among the brightest. Here he is spotted at Dragon Con, dressed as Commander Shepard (of course) without any pomp or circumstance just there for the funsies. Mark tweeted: “Looks like I took @masseffect fans by surprise at the DragonCon parade…” before linking this fan made video. Watch the video for the cutest fan response to spotting him:
In other fangirl news I stumbled onto Wondygirls post about Lena (Game of Thrones – Queen Cercei) Headey starring in Dredd 3D. She looks so bad ass here, good on her!
If you want to see more things I wrote this past week check out PS I Made This – Justin Currie for gorgeous fan art worthy of any wall private or professional. Or come speculate with me on the future of the new SWTOR superservers and how their implementation will play out in SWTOR – New Superservers and 12 Character Limits.
I hope we entertained you with these little links and images we shared with each other this week. If nothing else it may serve to give you an idea of what sort of people lurk behind the otters!
